Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 3 tablespoon cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour and cocoa with the remaining dry ingredients.
  2. Sift this mixture into a greased 9-inch square pan.
  3. Make three wells (holes) in the flour mixture.
  4. Pour the oil into one well.
  5. Pour the vinegar into the second well.
  6. Pour the vanilla into the third well.
  7. Pour the cold water over all the ingredients in the pan.
  8. Beat with a spoon until nearly smooth and you cannot see the flour.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes.
