Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • a dash of salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons flavoring
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Blend flour, sugar, salt, and cocoa in the top of a double boiler.
  2. Add milk and cook about 10 minutes, then remove from heat.
  3. Stir in egg yolks and butter.
  4. Return to heat and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
