Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1 cup strong brewed hot coffee
  • 3 large eggs
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Stir together.
  2. Whisk together the milk, coffee, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just blended.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit in a warm place until doubled in size, about 45 minutes.
  5. Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  6. Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  7. Spoon enough batter onto the waffle iron to cover the surface.
  8. Bake until the waffles are done and golden brown.
