- Mix and sift flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, coffee powder, and salt.
- Combine 3 tablespoons melted butter, milk, beaten egg, and vanilla.
- Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well blended.
- Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch square pan or deep pie dish.
- Combine crushed corn flakes, remaining 2 tablespoons melted butter, 2 tablespoons sugar, and cinnamon; mix well.
- Sprinkle the cornflake mixture evenly over the batter in the pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes or until the cake tests done.
- Serve warm or cold.
