Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, cocoa, butter, salt, and beaten eggs together.
  2. Add cold water and flour alternately to the mixture.
  3. Dissolve soda in hot water and add to the batter along with vanilla.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased tube pan.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 40 minutes.
  6. Once baked, pour chocolate glaze over the cake.
