Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup All Bran cereal
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup crushed Shredded Wheat biscuits
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Cream together the sugar and shortening, then add the eggs and beat well.
  2. Combine the All Bran cereal, crushed Shredded Wheat biscuits, and boiling water; mix and let sit for a few minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, soda, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Add the cereal mixture alternately with the milk to the egg mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture, and mix gently.
  5. Fold in the raisins.
  6. Pour the batter into greased muffin tins and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes.
