Ingredients

  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, and eggs until fluffy.
  2. Add flour, baking soda, and salt to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  3. Add cooked raisins and shape the dough into small balls.
  4. Roll each dough ball in sugar and place on a greased baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes.
