Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup chopped celery
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 17 oz cream-style corn
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/8 tsp thyme
  • 2 cups diced ham
  • 1 1/2 cups diced potatoes
  • 3 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and celery; cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in flour and cook over low heat, stirring constantly for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually stir in milk and cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened and smooth.
  5. Stir in creamed corn, diced potatoes, pepper, and thyme.
  6. Cover and simmer until potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally.
  7. Add diced ham and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until heated through.
