Ingredients

  • 1 cup small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine cottage cheese, egg, ketchup, chopped onion, prepared mustard, quick cooking oats, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the lean ground beef to the mixture and mix well.
  3. Press the mixture into an ungreased 8-inch square baking pan.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the top with grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink.
  7. Drain excess fat and let stand for 10 minutes before cutting.
