- Melt the shortening in a skillet.
- Add minced onion and finely chopped green pepper.
- Fry for about 10 minutes until vegetables are tender.

- Add the sautéed onion and green pepper, then mix thoroughly.
- Pack the mixture into a 5 x 10-inch Spry-coated loaf pan.
- Spread catsup on top of the meat loaf.
- Bake in a hot oven at 400°F for 1 hour.
- Serve hot or cold.
