Ingredients

  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese with pineapple
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed

Instructions

  1. Sift together the sifted flour, baking powder, salt, and celery seed.
  2. Cut in the butter using a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add milk to the cottage cheese with pineapple and stir into the flour mixture.
  4. Gather the dough on a floured board and roll to 1/8 inch thickness.
  5. Cut into 1/2 inch strips, each 3 inches long.
  6. Place the strips on a greased baking sheet, twisting or laying flat and pricking with a fork.
  7. Sprinkle the strips with paprika and additional celery seed if desired.
  8. Refrigerate until ready to bake.
  9. Bake at 425°F for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
  10. Remove from oven and transfer to cooling racks, serve warm.
