Ingredients

  • 2 c. celery slices
  • 1/4 c. margarine, melted
  • 1 (8 or 9-inch) pan cornbread, crumbled
  • 6 c. bread cubes
  • 1 (1 lb.) pkg. pork sausage, cooked and drained
  • 1 tsp. sage
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) condensed chicken broth
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. chopped onion

Instructions

  1. In a small skillet, sauté celery and onion until tender.
  2. Combine the sautéed celery and onion mixture with crumbled cornbread, bread cubes, cooked sausage, and sage. Mix well.
  3. Add condensed chicken broth, water, and eggs to the mixture.
  4. Toss until the stuffing is moist. Add more water if a moister texture is desired.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes.
