Ingredients

  • pastry for single 9 inch pie crust
  • 1 1/4 cups dark corn syrup
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Roll pastry on a lightly floured surface into a 13-inch circle.
  3. Fit the pastry into a 9-inch pie plate, trim edges, and flute.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine dark corn syrup, eggs, brown sugar, melted butter, flour, and vanilla; mix well.
  5. Stir in pecan halves until evenly coated.
  6. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes or until the filling is set and golden brown.
