- Gradually add the very warm water and vegetable oil; beat for 2 minutes on medium speed.
- Scrape the bowl occasionally during mixing.
- Add 1/2 cup of flour; beat for 2 minutes on high, scraping the bowl.
- Stir in the rye flour and enough all-purpose flour to make a soft dough.
- Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 6 to 8 minutes.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a greased baking pan.
- Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Brush the top with the beaten egg white mixed with water.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 30 minutes or until the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
