Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 2/3 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Alternately add the flour mixture and sour cream to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan and bake for approximately 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
