Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs, at room temperature
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1/2 pint whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sifted sugar thoroughly.
  2. Beat in eggs, one at a time, on high speed.
  3. Beat well after adding eggs.
  4. Add flour, sifted three times, alternately with whipping cream, starting and ending with flour.
  5. Add vanilla, lemon, and almond extracts.
  6. Pour batter into a greased and floured pan.
  7. Bake at 325°F for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until tested done.
  8. Do not open oven during the first hour of baking.
  9. Cool slightly before removing from the pan.
