Ingredients
- 1/4 lb. beef fat ⓘ
- 1/2 lb. celery, sliced ⓘ
- 1/2 lb. onion, sliced ⓘ
- 3/4 Tbsp. garlic salt ⓘ
- 3/4 c. granulated sugar ⓘ
- 1/2 Tbsp. black pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp. thyme ⓘ
- 3/4 Tbsp. salt ⓘ
- 1 (10 oz.) can tomato puree ⓘ
- 1/2 lb. green peppers, sliced ⓘ
- 1 1/2 c. fish broth ⓘ
- 1/4 c. cornstarch ⓘ
- 1/4 pt. red Burgundy ⓘ
- 1/4 Tbsp. Tabasco sauce ⓘ
- 1/2 lb. cooked cod ⓘ
Instructions
- Melt the beef fat in a large pot.
- Add sliced celery and onions, and sauté on medium heat for 5 minutes.
- Add garlic salt, black pepper, thyme, salt, and sugar; mix well.
- Pour in the tomato puree and add sliced green peppers and fish broth.
- Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Dissolve the cornstarch in red Burgundy until smooth.
- Add the cornstarch mixture to the sauce and bring to a boil again.
- Add Tabasco sauce and simmer the sauce for 20 minutes.
- Add cooked cod and shrimp to the sauce and cook until hot.
