Ingredients

- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper ⓘ
- 2 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley ⓘ
- 1 egg white ⓘ
- 2/3 cup buttermilk ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce ⓘ
- 4 large carrots, scraped and cut into thin strips ⓘ
- Vegetable oil ⓘ
Instructions
- Combine cornmeal, all-purpose flour, onion powder, Old Bay seasoning, salt, white pepper, and chopped parsley; set aside.
- Beat egg white until foamy; stir in buttermilk and hot sauce.
- Dip carrot strips into the buttermilk mixture; drain off excess, then dredge in the seasoned cornmeal mixture.
- Pour vegetable oil to a 1-inch depth in a Dutch oven and heat to 350°F.
- Fry the coated carrots for 2 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Serve immediately.
