Ingredients

  • 3 medium zucchini
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine egg and milk in a small bowl.
  2. In another bowl, mix together flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, pepper, and salt.
  3. Dip each zucchini spear into the egg/milk mixture, then coat well in the dry mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet or deep fryer until hot.
  5. Fry the coated zucchini spears until crisp and brown, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately.
