Curriet Fruit is a warm, sweet and spicy dessert combining tender fruits in a curry-infused brown sugar sauce, perfect for entertaining or cozy family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 stick margarine
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 jar (about 15 oz.) spiced apple rings
  • 1 (No. 2) can (about 20 oz.) peach slices
  • 1 (No. 2) can (about 20 oz.) pear halves

Instructions

  1. Combine margarine, brown sugar, and curry powder in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Drain the fruit.
  4. Arrange the drained fruit in a shallow 2-quart baking dish (about 10 x 6 x 1 1/2-inch).
  5. Pour the hot sauce over the fruit.
  6. Garnish with maraschino cherries.
  7. Bake at 325°F until bubbly, about 30 to 40 minutes.
