Ingredients

  • 2 c. chopped dates
  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. nut meats

Instructions

  1. Combine chopped dates, margarine or butter, soda, and boiling water in a bowl and let cool.
  2. Add eggs to the cooled mixture and beat well.
  3. Stir in sugar, flour, and salt until well blended.
  4. Fold in nut meats.
  5. Pour batter into greased cupcake pans and bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes.
