Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine
  • 2 c. white sugar
  • 2 c. chopped dates
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 c. Rice Krispies
  • coconut

Instructions

  1. Melt margarine in a saucepan; add sugar, beaten eggs, chopped dates, and chopped pecans.
  2. Bring to a boil; continue cooking at a slow boil for 10 minutes.
  3. Add vanilla and stir well.
  4. Pour mixture over Rice Krispies in a large bowl and stir to combine.
  5. Shape the mixture into logs or balls.
  6. Roll the shaped treats in coconut.
  7. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
