Ingredients

  • 2 lb. lean beef
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
  • 1 c. tomato sauce
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Combine meat, onions, garlic, and green peppers in a large pot. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. Add chili powder, sugar, tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, and salt to the pot.
  3. Simmer the mixture for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  4. Before serving, add kidney beans and heat thoroughly.
