Ingredients

  • 1 deer roast
  • your choice spices
  • 3 carrots
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 2 onions
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup apple juice or cider
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare a baking bag according to the package instructions.
  2. Season the deer roast with your choice of spices, salt, and pepper.
  3. Chop carrots, onions, garlic, and potatoes into chunks.
  4. In a mixing bowl, toss the vegetables with celery seed, allspice, and additional spices as desired.
  5. Place the seasoned deer roast into the oven baking bag, add the vegetables around it.
  6. Sprinkle the flour over the roast and vegetables to help thicken the gravy.
  7. Pour the apple juice or cider into the bag.
  8. Seal the bag securely and place it in a roasting pan.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 3 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  10. Remove from the oven, carefully cut open the bag, and serve hot.
