Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. diced deer meat
  • 1 large onion
  • salt to season
  • pepper to season
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1 tsp. crushed basil leaves
  • 6 potatoes
  • 4 carrots

Instructions

  1. Cut the deer meat into small pieces and boil for about 1 hour and a half on medium-high heat.
  2. Dice the onion, potatoes, and carrots.
  3. Add the diced vegetables to the boiling meat after half an hour of cooking.
  4. Add salt, pepper, crushed red pepper, crushed basil leaves, vegetable oil, and bacon strips to the stew.
  5. Continue cooking for another hour until the meat and vegetables are tender.
  6. Serve hot.
