Ingredients

  • 1 (No. 2) can string beans
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped pimento
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 1/2 cup cracker crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a skillet.
  2. Add chopped celery and onion; cook until tender.
  3. Drain the can of string beans.
  4. Add the drained beans and chopped pimento to the cooked celery and onion.
  5. Mix the juice from the beans with the mushroom soup.
  6. Combine the bean mixture with the soup mixture and pour into a casserole dish.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese over the top of the casserole.
  8. Add cracker crumbs on top of the cheese.
  9. Dot the casserole with small pieces of butter.
  10. Bake in a 350°F oven for 50 minutes.
