Deluxe chicken breasts are breaded, baked to perfection, and topped with a rich cheese sauce, making a flavorful and elegant main dish suitable for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 whole chicken breasts, skinned and boned
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • dash salt
  • dash black pepper
  • dash paprika
  • 1/4 c. bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • bell pepper rings (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts between wax paper and flatten slightly with your hands.
  2. Whisk egg yolks with water in a bowl.
  3. Combine flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, bread crumbs, and Parmesan cheese in a shallow dish.
  4. Dip chicken in the egg yolk mixture, then roll in the flour and bread crumb mixture.
  5. Brown the coated chicken in butter on both sides in a skillet.
  6. Place the browned chicken in a shallow baking dish.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes.
  8. Prepare cheese sauce while the chicken is baking.
  9. After the chicken is cooked, cover with the cheese sauce.
  10. Garnish with bell pepper rings if desired.
