Dingbats are sweet, nutty rice Krispies treats with chopped dates and pecans, dusted with powdered sugar—perfect for snacking, parties, or a delightful dessert for all ages.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 package chopped dates
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 cups Rice Krispies
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine margarine and sugar in a saucepan and cook over low heat until dissolved.
  2. Add well beaten egg and chopped dates, stirring to combine.
  3. Cook over low heat for 10 minutes longer, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat and add vanilla; stir well.
  5. Add Rice Krispies and mix thoroughly.
  6. Form mixture into balls and roll in powdered sugar.
