Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Mix milk, beaten eggs, sugar, baking powder, flour, and nutmeg together well to form batter.
  2. Heat oil to 375°F in a deep fryer or heavy pot.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil carefully.
  4. Cook until donut holes are golden brown, then lift out with a slotted spoon.
  5. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar or granulated sugar before serving.
