Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  3. Beat together butter and sugar at medium speed until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg yolks, one at a time, until blended.
  5. Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Fold flour mixture into butter mixture.
  7. Press the mixture into the prepared pan and pack down firmly.
  8. Sprinkle chopped walnuts, chocolate chips, and marshmallows over the top of the mixture in the pan.
  9. Beat egg whites at high speed until stiff peaks form.
  10. Fold in brown sugar into the beaten egg whites.
  11. Spread the egg white mixture over the ingredients in the pan.
  12. Bake for 35 minutes or until a crust is formed.
  13. Transfer the pan to a wire rack and let cool completely.
  14. Cut into squares to serve.
