Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup corn flakes
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup coconut

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Cream together the shortening, brown sugar, white sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  4. Stir in the crushed corn flakes, oats, and coconut until evenly combined.
  5. Shape the dough into small balls and flatten onto a greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8 minutes.
  7. Cool on racks before serving.
