A rich and moist dried fruitcake with a medley of dried fruits and nuts, perfect for festive occasions or as a wholesome snack for fruit lovers.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 c. dried pitted prunes
  • 1 c. dried apricots
  • 1 1/2 c. walnuts or pecans
  • 2 c. orange juice
  • 1 pkg. quick bread mix (nut, date nut or apricot)
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Combine raisins, dried pitted prunes, dried apricots, walnuts or pecans, and orange juice in a bowl.
  2. Cover and let marinate at room temperature for several hours or overnight.
  3. Stir the mixture 1 or 2 times during marination.
  4. Prepare the quick bread mix according to package instructions, adding the egg.
  5. Fold the marinated dried fruit and nut mixture into the bread batter.
  6. Pour into a prepared baking pan and bake at the temperature specified on the bread mix package until done.
