Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. melted margarine
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • sliced peaches
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Separate the egg into yolk and whites.
  2. To the yolk, add melted margarine and milk, then beat slightly.
  3. Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the egg yolk mixture and mix well.
  5. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, gradually adding some of the sugar.
  6. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter.
  7. Pour the mixture into a deep pie pan.
  8. Arrange sliced peaches on top of the batter.
  9. Sprinkle with approximately 1/4 cup of sugar over the peaches.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
  11. Serve warm, optionally with cream.
