- Cream butter in a bowl.

- Set aside the mixture.
- Mix baking soda with cold applesauce until blended.

- Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned on top.
