Ingredients

  • 1 None small onion, peeled and finely diced
  • 2/3 lb ground beef
  • 1 None egg
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • 2 oz low-fat cream cheese
  • 1/2 None each red and green bell pepper, seeded and finely diced
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 4 None seeded bread rolls, cut in half
  • 4 tsp mayonnaise
  • 4 None lettuce leaves
  • 2 None medium tomatoes, sliced

Instructions

  1. Mix the onion, ground beef, egg, paprika, cream cheese and 2/3 of the diced peppers. Season to taste and form the mixture into 4 flat patties. Heat the oil in a nonstick pan and fry the patties over a medium heat for about 12 minutes, turning as necessary. Remove them from the pan and let them cool slightly.
  2. Spread the lower half of the bread rolls with mayonnaise, followed by layers of lettuce, and tomatoes and a patty. Sprinkle with paprika and chives and top with the upper half of the bun.
