Ingredients

  • 3 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 lb. regular sausage
  • 3 eggs
  • chopped green pepper
  • chopped onion
  • 10 - 12 slices of yellow American cheese
  • 1 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 1/2 - 2 cans tomato sauce
  • salt
  • pepper
  • another can of tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix the ground beef, sausage, eggs, chopped green pepper, chopped onion, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper together well, ensuring everything is evenly incorporated.
  2. Place the mixture into a 9 inch x 13 inch baking dish.
  3. Cover the meat loaf with the can of tomato sauce and add a little water.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until the meat loaf is done.
  5. Let it rest before cutting into 3/4 inch slices.
