Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon meat seasoning, or to taste
  • 1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1 pinch herbes de Provence, or to taste
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup skim milk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 pastry for a 9-inch deep dish pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook and stir onion until tender and browned, 15 to 20 minutes. 3. Beat eggs together in a bowl. Whisk in milk, mayonnaise, and flour; sprinkle with salt. Stir in beef mixture and 1 cup of Cheddar cheese. Pour into the pie shell.
  4. Bake in preheated oven until a knife inserted into the center of quiche comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top of the quiche. Allow to stand for 5 minutes before cutting.
