Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening and sugars in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg.
  3. Add salt, soda, flour, and water; mix well.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips.
  5. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 11 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  7. Cool on the cookie sheet.
