Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup chopped candied cherries
  • 1/2 cup chopped candied pineapple
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 11 oz pie crust mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine chopped dates, candied cherries, candied pineapple, raisins, and chopped pecans.
  3. Mix well.
  4. In a large bowl, combine pie crust mix, baking soda, sugar, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and ground nutmeg. Stir to mix.
  5. Add eggs and beat well.
  6. Stir in the fruit mixture and mix thoroughly.
  7. Drop teaspoon-sized portions onto an ungreased cookie sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for about 10 minutes, until light brown.
  9. Remove from the cookie sheet and place on a rack to cool completely.
  10. Handle carefully as cookies are fragile while hot; they become more crispy as they cool.
