Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oleo
  • 2 squares melted chocolate
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter; add sugar and cream well.
  2. Add melted chocolate. Add egg and vanilla to milk.
  3. Sift flour once, measure; add baking powder and sift again.
  4. Add nuts to the flour mixture.
  5. Combine the two mixtures and pour into a shallow greased baking pan.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes.
  7. Cut into squares.
