Ingredients

  • 3 cups plain croutons
  • 1 1/2 cups sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • pepper
  • 1 small can mushrooms
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
  • ham or bacon pieces

Instructions

  1. Butter a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Beat the eggs; add milk, onion salt, dry mustard, and pepper.
  3. Place croutons in the prepared pan.
  4. Sprinkle with cheese and mushrooms.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients.
  6. Sprinkle with ham or bacon pieces.
  7. Cover with foil and refrigerate if preparing ahead.
  8. Bake at 325°F for 45 to 50 minutes until set.
