Ingredients

  • 1 lb melted butter
  • 3 1/2 cups sugar
  • 7 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons lemon or vanilla flavoring
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 2 cups plain cake flour
  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 4 oz cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter and add the sugar, mixing well.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  4. Stir in lemon or vanilla flavoring.
  5. Mix in sour cream until smooth.
  6. Gradually fold in cake flour and self-rising flour until batter is well combined.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan or bundt pan.
  8. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 1 hour and 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool before removing from the pan and serving.
