Oatsies are crunchy, chocolate-topped oat bars with nuts, perfect for a quick snack or dessert. They offer a delightful combination of sweet, nutty, and chocolate flavors.

- Heat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Grease a 9 x 9-inch (23 x 23 cm) baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix oats and brown sugar.
- In a separate bowl, stir together melted butter, dark corn syrup, salt, and vanilla.
- Pour the wet mixture into the oats mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the top bubbles.
- Cool the baked mixture, then spread melted semi-sweet chocolate pieces evenly on top.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts over the melted chocolate.
- Chill the bars for 1 hour until set.
- Cut into about 2 x 1-inch (5 x 2.5 cm) bars.
