Ingredients

  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 4 oz. drained and chopped green chilies
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 10 to 12 flour soft taco shells

Instructions

  1. Combine tomato sauce, chopped green chilies, and cumin in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix shredded Cheddar cheese with sliced green onions lightly.
  4. Place a tortilla in a paper towel and heat slightly in the microwave to soften.
  5. Place one tortilla in a large casserole dish or skillet, add 2 tablespoons of sauce and 1/2 cup of cheese mixture.
  6. Repeat layers until all tortillas are used, ending with a tortilla on top.
  7. Top with the remaining sauce.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese mixture and continue baking until the cheese is melted.
  10. Cut into wedges and serve.
