Ingredients

  • 4 cups cut-up celery
  • 2 cups coarsely crumbled Ritz crackers
  • minced chives
  • minced parsley
  • 2 cups hot milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 2-quart casserole dish.
  3. Layer a portion of cut-up celery in the dish.
  4. Sprinkle with coarsely crumbled Ritz crackers, minced chives, and minced parsley.
  5. Repeat layering with remaining celery, crackers, and herbs until all are used.
  6. Heat the hot milk and pour it over the layered ingredients, ensuring the milk covers the contents. Add more milk if necessary.
  7. Dot the top with butter.
  8. Dust with paprika.
  9. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the celery is cooked and the milk is absorbed.
