Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup pecans
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup Pet milk

Instructions

  1. Mix the first six ingredients (including pineapple juice) by hand.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
  3. Mix the brown sugar and pecans together.
  4. Sprinkle the pecan mixture over the batter in the pan.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
  6. While the cake is baking, combine the remaining four ingredients in a saucepan.
  7. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
  8. Pour the boiling mixture over the hot cake immediately after removing it from the oven.
  9. Serve the cake warm.
