Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck beef
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup grated American cheese
  • 1/3 cup three minute oats
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup chopped celery
  • 1 tsp. caraway seed
  • 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp. grated carrot

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except half of the tomato sauce in a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Place the mixture into a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 35 to 40 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and pour off excess fat.
  5. Pour the remaining tomato sauce over the loaf.
  6. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
