Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter; add powdered sugar and 1 cup sugar. Beat until fluffy.
  3. Add oil, eggs, and almond extract. Beat until combined.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients, beating on medium speed until combined.
  5. May have to mix by hand if too stiff. Cover and chill for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake cookies for 10 to 12 minutes.
