Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Vienna bread
  • 12 oz. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 12 oz. fresh mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 sticks butter, melted
  • 2 Tbsp. poppy seed (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp. onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt or salt substitute
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Cut the loaf crosswise like a pineapple, about 1 inch cuts, down to the bottom crust.
  2. Mix the shredded Swiss cheese with chopped mushrooms and put the mixture into the cuts.
  3. Place the stuffed loaf on a large sheet of heavy aluminum foil.
  4. Wrap the foil tightly and refrigerate until ready to serve.
