Tips & Substitutions

For a lighter version, consider using zucchini or yellow squash instead of the peppers. You can also swap the prawns for cooked chicken or vegetables for a vegetarian option. Adding a splash of white wine to the sauce can enhance the flavor. If you prefer a creamier texture, stir in some heavy cream at the end of cooking. This dish pairs wonderfully with Italian recipes featuring fresh herbs.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the Fettuccini Primavera garnished with additional fresh basil for a vibrant touch. A side salad with a tangy vinaigrette complements the dish perfectly, as does crusty bread for dipping. This meal also pairs well with a crisp white wine, making it a great choice for dinner parties. Explore more seafood recipes to expand your culinary repertoire.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently warm the pasta in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water or broth to prevent sticking. You can also microwave it in short intervals, stirring occasionally, until heated through. Avoid reheating more than once to maintain quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use frozen prawns for this recipe?

Yes, frozen prawns are a convenient option! Just ensure they are fully thawed and drained before adding them to the dish. This will help them cook evenly and avoid excess moisture in the sauce.

What can I substitute for tomato sauce?

If you don’t have tomato sauce on hand, crushed tomatoes or diced tomatoes can be used as a substitute. You might want to add a bit of extra seasoning, like oregano or thyme, to enhance the flavor since tomato sauce is typically seasoned.

How can I make this dish vegetarian?

To make Fettuccini Primavera vegetarian, simply omit the prawns and increase the quantity of vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, and broccoli. You can also add some protein such as chickpeas or tofu for added texture and nutrition.
